Happy Friday, Huskies! This week, we are highlighting another generate team and are getting ready to wrap up the spring semester!

Reimagining Guitar Technology 🎸

Meet the Team Members:
Soohan Kim, Kyle Jurrens, Ana Torreao, Vinayajitesh Balaji, Ethan He, Michael Gadup Remijan
and Emily Liu

"Imagine Analog is a project focused on guitar players! We’re making a configurable multi-effect guitar pedal that will allow guitarists to change the way their guitar sounds using low-latency, high-quality analog circuitry! Guitarists will be able to change how their guitar sounds out of the amp with better sound quality and at a lower price than current pedals on the market. We’re aiming toward having a fully operational guitar pedal that people can try out at Showcase."  - Soohan Kim

Extra Credit with Professor Mark Sivak! 📝

Here I share something design or tech related from the week for those looking for just a little extra credit.

I have been using and following Extended Reality technology for over a decade. There are some exciting developments occurring and some that I remain skeptical about (specifically the metaverse). Anyway, this week Meta did have a game showcase with some fun-looking games. Currently, one of the best ways to try VR is by gaming on the Meta Quest 2.

I do think that XR will play a larger role in our work and social lives but still, it is far off. One of my favorite experiences has been watching NBA games in VR. I hope they try more live experiences and social experiences and try less to have us meet for work wearing VR headsets and awkwardly trying to use a whiteboard in VR with hand controllers.

Thoughts and feedback about the extra credit this week or want to submit one for next week? Email Professor Sivak at m.sivak@northeastern.edu.
